Saturday, 11th of October Deep Blue Orchestra Deep Blue Orchestra - it looks like an orchestra , acts like a band, feels like a movie. Deep Blue Orchestra will be performing at the Gladstone Entertainment Centre on Saturday, the 11th of October at 8pm. Combining cameras, big screens, dynamic lighting and a video jockey, this is not a tradioational orchestra. This is an orchestra with attitude that is sexy, sophisticated and entertaining, set to 'change your perception of contemporary music forever'.

Tuesday 14th of October 2008 Chronic Illness Workshop The Gladstone Community Health Centre is running a free Chronic Illness Workshop over four weeks starting on the 14th of October. It will be held at the Central Queensland Health Service District on Flinders Street. There will a range of health professionals covering a wide variety of topics. Coowonga State School - Twilight Fair The Coowonga State School is a small semi rural school with an enrolment of 28 students from Prep to Year 7. Our school is located on Coowonga Road, just off Emu Park Road.
The P & C Association is holding a Twilight Fair on the 18th October from 2.00pm to 8.00pm, as part of our fundraising efforts.
There will be market stalls, a multidraw raffle, children's activities, craft stalls, cake stalls, live entertainment and a fantastic BBQ. A bar will also be operating.
Our P&C goal this year is to raise enough money to start tiger turfing under our new covered area and to relocate/rebuild our adventure playground.

Saturday 18th of October Diabetes Expo The Gladstone Diabetes Association is holding a Diabetes Expo on Saturday the 18th of October. The day will run from 8.30am to 4.30pm with free admission. All are encouraged to attend, not just those diagnosed with diabetes. There will be eleven expert specialists from around Queensland. Tuesday 21st of October QCWA Ritzy Morning Tea The Queensland Country Women's Association Gladstone Branch would like to invite memebers and guests to a Ritzy Mornining Tea on Tuesday 21st October at the QCWA Hall in Oaka Lake. Doors open at 9.30am with a $5.00 entry fee. There will be three guest speakers from muscular degeneration, diabetes and palliative care. Monday 22nd September - Friday 12th of December Free breast screen mammograms The BreastScreen Queensland Mobile Screening Unit will be offering screening mammograms in Gladstone from Monday the 22nd of September until Friday the 12th of December and again in early 2009. The unit will be located near the John Dahl swimming pool in Glenlyon Street. This service is FREE to women over 40 years of age and women aged between 50 and 69 are especially encouraged to attend. Appointments are necessary and can be made by phoning 13 20 50 during normal business hours.
Saturday 22nd of November Christmas Markets The Christmas Markets will be held on the Redeemer School Grounds on Callard Street in Biloela from 8am to 2pm with a gold coin entry. It will incorporate 'Bilo's Got Talent'. There will also be market stalls, kids activities, bbq breakfast and lunch and refreshments. Saturday 25th of October Harbour Cruise to aid Robyn Lindly (cancer sufferer) On Saturday the 25th of October, a harbour cruise will be held to aid Robyn Lindley (cancer sufferer). The cruise will board at 6.30pm, departing at 7pm. The cruise will go for 4 hours, with drop off at the Yacht Club. $40 entry includes music, sausage sizzle, nibblies and fun! Sunday 26th of October Agnes Water Fundraiser for Accident Victims A Fundraiser will be held for accident victims, Chloe Wells and Mitchell Buggy at the Agnes Water Tavern from 12 midday til late.
Chloe and Mitchell were badly injured a vehicle accident on Rosedale Road on 18th September. The vehicle they were passengers in collided into another vehicle and burst into flames. Chloe and Mitchell were trapped in the vehicle. Both remain in Brisbane hospital with extensive burns and Mitchell has serious internal injuries as well.
4CC will be roadtripping to Agnes Water to join in the Fundraiser. Drex will be broadcasting live from 12midday til 6pm and we will be handing out plenty of lollies and keeping the cheer up.
There is a huge line up of entertainment, huge collection of items to be auctioned including holidays, sports memorabilia and original artworks by well known artists, mega raffles, a mechanical bucking bull, food stalls, bar, kids games and face painting.
All funds raised will go towards the Chloe Wells and Mitchell Buggy benefit fund so make sure you head along and join in.
Every Friday Night Soccor Goose Club Calliope Junior Soccer Club will hold a weekly 10-Prize Goose Club and Jackpot every Friday night at 7pm at the Diggers Arms Hotel, Calliope. $500 worth of prizes to win, which is drawn at 8pm and you must be present to win. Ongoing Become a volunteer host family!! Southern Cross Cultural Exchange is seeking volunteer host families for high school students aged between 14 and 18 years old. They are scheduled to arrive in Australia in February 2009 from Germany, Austria, Italy, Finland, Japan, Colombia, Brazil, USA and Canada. Host families can choose to take part for a duration of either 3, 5 or 10 months.
