Ouch, I mean, that’s a bit harsh.

Ange Postecoglou made Australian sport history earlier this year after he was named the first Australian to be appointed as manager of a Premier League Football team over in the UK. However, after only 39-days on the grass as the manager of Nottingham Forest, Postecoglou was sacked as the team’s manager.

In his brief tenure as manager the team saw eight defeats in a row. In his last game with the club this weekend, Nottingham Forest went toe to toe against Chelsea. But amidst the second half of the game Nottingham Forest found themselves at the mercy of Chelsea with a 0-2 score difference. At this point Evangelos Marinakis, Nottingham Forest owner, rose from the stands and left the stadium before the games conclusion.

Postecoglou was sacked before the post-game press conference. When the game reached its conclusion of 0-3 for a Chelsea victory, Postecoglou hung around on the grass to applaud the fans then abruptly left the stadium immediately driving away in his own vehicle. It would seem that Postecoglou may have known what the outcome of this game meant for his career with Nottingham Forest. Postecoglou has now become the manager with the second ever shortest tenure, he inches out Sam Allardyce who was the manager of Leeds for only 30-days.
