Bob’s Garage Launch “Pit Stop” : Men’s Talking Circles
Bob’s Garage will soon launch “Pit Stop”, a new series of men’s talking circles aimed at supporting connection, conversation and wellbeing among men in the Gladstone region.
Beginning Monday 20th April, the gatherings will be held every second Monday from 6:30pm at Bob’s Garage in the purpose-built garden space. The sessions are designed to provide a relaxed and welcoming environment where men can come together, engage in open conversations about life’s challenges and experiences over a fire, around the log circle or by the BBQ.
The concept behind the “Pit Stop” is simple — much like a vehicle occasionally needs to pull in for a check-up, people also benefit from taking time to pause, reflect and connect with others.
Bob’s Garage has been developed by McCosker Contracting, as a community-led initiative to encourage early conversations among men, helping to reduce isolation and create stronger support networks across the region.
“These gatherings are about creating a safe and informal space where men can talk, listen and support one another,” said Bob’s Garage founder Bob McCosker.
“Many men don’t necessarily seek out formal support services, but they will come along for a conversation, a BBQ and the chance to connect with others. The Pit Stop is designed to make those conversations easier.”
The sessions are open to all men in the community, regardless of age or background. There is no cost to attend, and participants are welcome to simply come along, meet others and take part in the discussion.
Bob’s Garage continues to work alongside local organisations and community groups to strengthen wellbeing initiatives and encourage meaningful connection among men across the region.
