Bob’s Garage hosts Pit Stop, a recurring men’s talking circle designed to encourage connection, conversation and wellbeing among men in the Gladstone region.
Held regularly at Bob’s Garage, Pit Stop provides a relaxed and welcoming space where men can take a break from the daily grind, share experiences, talk through life’s challenges, or simply listen and connect with others around the fire, in the garden space or over a BBQ.
The idea behind Pit Stop is simple. Just as a vehicle occasionally needs a service, people also need time to pause, check in with themselves and connect with others.
Developed by McCosker Contracting, Bob’s Garage is a community-led initiative focused on creating opportunities for meaningful conversations, reducing social isolation and building stronger support networks for local men.
“These gatherings are about creating a safe and informal space where men can talk, listen and support one another,” said Bob’s Garage founder Bob McCosker.
“Many men don’t seek out formal support services, but they will come along for a conversation, a BBQ and the chance to connect with others. Pit Stop is designed to make those conversations easier.”
There’s no pressure, no expectations and no cost to attend. Whether you want to share what’s on your mind, hear from others, or simply enjoy good company, all men are welcome.
