A man has been charged with weapon and drug offences after a raid on a Calliope home.
Police attending the property on Wednesday in relation to drug offence suspicions.
Around 1pm, police say they located what is believed to be explosive material, as well as what they call “suspicious devices and weapons.”
The Queensland Police Explosive Ordinance Response Team was called in to the home on Herbertson Road, establishing an exclusion zone to render it safe.
A crime scene was established and closed later that evening.
A 37 year old local man has since been arrested and charged with ten offences.
These include three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of unlawful possession of weapons, allegedly relating to the finding of a shortened rifle, crossbows and butterfly knives.
The man was expected in court at Gladstone, as investigations continue.
