He is facing several domestic violence charges including common assault, strangulation, and threatening violence, and using a carriage service to menace, harass or cause offence.

The man has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on November 12.

Capricornia District Inspector Mel Cowie said there is no place for domestic violence of any kind in the community, and high-harm offenders will be held to account.

“Violence in any form is never acceptable, and we will continue to employ a zero-tolerance policy against domestic violence offenders,” said Inspector Cowie.

“The protection of victims is paramount, and everyone has the right to feel safe and respected in their home.”
