More than 200 charged with property offences across Capricornia District this year

Police across the Capricornia District continue to target property crime with officers running simultaneous policing operations which has seen 231 offenders charged with 635 property offences since the new year.

Officers from the Capricornia Property Crime Unit, Tactical Crime Squad Rockhampton CIB and CPIU remain committed to investigating and prosecuting the persons responsible for these offences.

Since January 1, 2023, the District has charged 178 juveniles and 53 adults with a total of 635 property offences.

Detective Inspector Luke Peachey said police said will continue to focus on prolific property offenders through 2023.

“Our dedicated team involves officers from the Property Crime Unit, Tactical Crime, Rockhampton CIB and CPIU the Dog Squad, and Intelligence. They continue to track down our most prolific alleged property offenders.”

“We closely monitor crime trends have noticed an increase in reported property crime activity within the District, particularly break and enters and stolen vehicles.”
