Rockhampton police have charged two 16-year-olds following the alleged assault of an elderly woman during an attempted armed robbery at a Park Avenue address.
Officers say the 73-year-old woman was hit over the head with an unknown object while checking her power box at around 11pm on January 25.
A 16-year-old Keperra boy has been charged with three counts of trespass, and one count each of enter dwelling with intent at night, attempted armed robbery, enter premises and commit, attempt unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He is due to face Brisbane Childrens Court at a later date.
A 16-year-old Bray Park boy has been charged with one count each of robbery in custody, enter dwelling with intent, common assault.
He has been dealt with under provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
Police are asking for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area on the evening of January 25 to come forward.
