Two teens charged following three month crime spree

Detectives have charged two teenage boys with multiple property offences, after they allegedly broke into several homes and businesses in and around Biloela over the last three months.

Authorities say the boys used multiple stolen cars to travel as far as Blackwater, also allegedly committing break and enters.

It’s believed most offences happened in the last three weeks.

The boys were found by detectives at a Biloela residence last Thursday.

A 16-year-old Kawana boy has been charged with fourteen counts of enter premises, thirteen counts of attempted enter premises, eight counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count each of trespass, obstruct police and possession of drug utensil.

A 17-year-old Berserker boy has been charged with five counts each of enter premises and attempted enter premises, three counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and trespass and two counts of obstruct police.

Both boys are set to appear in Biloela Childrens Court on March 7.

Detective Sergeant Koda Elliot from Biloela Criminal Investigation Branch says these boys have stolen cars which were often unlocked and sometimes travelled hundreds of kilometres in them.

“We were fortunate in this case that members of the public supplied information to Crimestoppers which helped us identify and ultimately locate the boys, “ she says.
