Flood Warning Issued For Local Catchments
An Initial Moderate Flood Warning has been issued for the Connors and Isaac River Catchment
Minor flooding is expected on the lower Isaac River at Yatton during Friday morning, with further rises to around the moderate flood level Friday evening.
Areas of heavy rainfall of between 60 to 190 mm were recorded across the Connors and Isaac River catchments and into the Mackenzie River catchment
during Tuesday and Wednesday. The heaviest rain however was centered across the headwaters of the Connors River catchment. This rain was associated with the
movement of a Tropical Low off the Whitsunday coast.
Further chance of showers and patchy rain are forecast to continue during Thursday.
Connors and Isaac Rivers:
River rises are occurring across the Connors and Isaac River catchment, with moderate flooding rising on the Connors River at Pink Lagoon. Rises are also
occurring further downstream along the Isaac River through to Yatton during Thursday morning.
The Isaac River at Yatton is currently at 2.51 metres (below minor) and rising.
The Isaac River at Yatton is expected to exceed the minor flood level (7.50 m) Friday morning. The river level is expected to reach around the moderate flood
level (9.50 m) Friday evening.
