Central Queensland Welcomes Showers
Showers and thunderstorms are forecast in Rockhampton and Gladstone on Friday, following weeks of hot, dry weather.
We will see a top of 28 in Rocky and a more moderate high of 25 in Gladstone.
The Bureau of Meteorology said the South East and Mackay have already started to see that rainfall.
Meteorologist Lauren Pattie said "we do have some shower activity out there, also a little further south off shore of south east Queensland at the moment but more showers are expected to develop throughout today [Friday]".
Bundaberg will also enjoy welcome rain.
There will be some scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day but Ms Pattie said the wet change will be shortlived.
She explained that this is a "clearing trend, the rain and showers will continue overnight into Saturday and continue particularly in the morning, but by the time we get into Saturday evening it will gradually ease back".
