Independent inquiry launched into the coronavirus outbreak, Rockhampton
An independent investigation will be launched into why a nurse who had coronavirus continued working at an aged care home in Central Queensland.
The woman was working at the North Rockhampton Nursing Centre when she was unwell and had also undergone testing.
235 staff and residents have returned negative results, with 37 still waiting, though health authorities say they won't be in the clear for another 12 days.
The North Rockhampton Nursing Centre remains in lockdown.
Queensland Health Minister Steven Miles says the government wants to get to the bottom of what happened:
"We want to understand exactly how it happened, what went wrong, why it went wrong and how we can make sure it never happens again," Mr Miles said.
