Bulk billing booms in CQ
A record number of Australians have been getting bulk billed.
For the financial year of 2019-20, 87.5 per cent of visits to the GP were provided with no out of pocket costs to patients.
In the Capricornia region, 77 per cent of patients were bulk billed which made up 7 out of 10 visits.
During the same period, 4.1 per cent of all medicare services were made up of telehealth items.
Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry said “the temporary telehealth items have played a critical role in the Government’s response to COVID-19.”
“These measures have allowed patients in Central and North Queensland to access essential health care while minimising the risk of community transmission of the virus,” Ms Landry said.
