Emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Leichardt and Dawson Highways at the southern end of Banana around 2am.

An RACQ Capricorn Rescue spokesperson says a B-Double semi-trailer was travelling north when it rolled.

"The driver sustained possible fractures and was pinned inside the truck until a passer by stopped to render assistance," the spokesperson says.

"Due to the roll over, the truck sustained damage to the roof of the forward trailer, spilling some of it’s contents onto the grass adjacent to the road.

"Traffic was delayed in all directions for several hours while a recovery crew pulled the truck back onto its wheels."

The patient in his 60s was suffering from significant leg injury.

He was flown to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition for treatment.
