One person has been assessed for burns to their hand, after a blaze broke out inside a Gladstone home.

Emergency crews were called to Haddock Drive in Kirkwood around 2.30am this morning, after curtains in the lounge room went up in flames.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson says the resident had the fire out by the time two fire crews arrived  at the property.

The house sustained some smoke damage.

Paramedics checked one patient over at the scene for minor hand burns, but say the person didn't require hospital treatment.
