Roll up, roll up! Rockhampton Show returns
There's an entertaining line-up on the cards for this year's Rockhampton Show.
Thousands of revelers are expected to flood Rockhampton showgrounds for the event, kicking off tomorrow, after COVID-19 forced last year's show to be axed.
More than 50,000 people walked through the gates when the show was last held in 2019.
Mayor Tony Williams say it's great to have the go-ahead for the event.
"It's fantastic being able to have these types of events again back on our events calendar, and it's great for our community," Cr Williams says.
"They really are crying out to get out and about and stretch their legs and have a look at what they've been missing out on over the last 12 months."
There's a free mobile app you can download to check out the full program, and Cr Williams says there will be something for everyone in 2021.
"Where people like to go and have a look at the agricultural show, they get that aspect of it, but they also get the rides and the entertainment, another level there as well," Cr Williams says.
"So, different demographics and different age groups and I think there's everything for everybody.
"It's something there that the community traditionally has been used to having, an agricultural show, and I don't think it's something that's going to change any time soon."
The Rockhampton Show will be held from Wednesday 9 June to Friday 11 June.
