Appeal for footage after two homes go up in flames

Investigations are underway after two neighbouring South Gladstone homes were destroyed by flames.

Emergency crews were called to Agnes Street just before 6.30am on Sunday morning.

A spokesperson for Queensland Police says the two homes were well alight.

"Occupants were safely evacuated from one house, the other was vacant. Both dwellings were destroyed," the spokesperson says.

"Following initial investigations, a crime scene was declared.

"Police wish to speak to anyone who may have observed suspicious activity in the area overnight and this morning."

Queensland Ambulance say there were no reported injuries.

Residents and motorists from the area are being asked to review CCTV and dashcam foorage of vehicles coming and going, or persons on foot between 5.30am and 6.30am on Sunday morning.
