Any doubts over Corey Oates' allegiances have been dismissed after the Queensland winger re-signed with Brisbane for another NRL season.
In a shot in the arm for new coach Anthony Seibold, Oates has resisted the temptation to follow Wayne Bennett to South Sydney and inked a new deal for 2019.
Oates, Matt Lodge and Tevita Pangai Junior were believed to be considering relocating to Redfern after Bennett left for the Rabbitohs following his sensational sacking via voice message by the Broncos.
But Oates, 24, opted to sign a 12-month deal in order to prove his worth to Seibold and earn a multi-year Broncos contract in the future.
"The best thing to do was to get the one year deal sorted. I don't want to go anywhere else," Oates told Broncos website.
"I did a one year deal last season to prove that I deserve a bigger contract, not money-wise, but because I want to stay here for a long time and do whatever I can for this club.
"There's been a lot going on in the back end of the season behind the scenes and the best option was to clear my head, sign the one year deal and back myself once again."
Oates' contract talks with Broncos were first stalled by a change of management then the month-long coach swap saga involving Seibold and Bennett.
Brisbane's remaining off-contract players - Lodge and Pangai Junior - are expected to re-sign in the coming weeks as Seibold finalises his squad for his debut season at the Broncos helm.
