Make your phone inaccessible

Whether it be in a different room, turned off or simply just on silent, if you have the ability to have a hard disconnect from work then the best thing you can feasibly do is simply turn your phone and leave it in a different room. Switching off from it completely like that and taking the temptation away whilst you do normal house tasks or post day relaxation is the best way to build a better relationship with your screen. Not to say go completely cold turkey, but it wouldn’t hurt to give yourself the ability to spend time without your phone.

Set yourself a ‘time allowance’

Something that also would assist is giving yourself an allowance on how much time you can spend on your phone doomscrolling. Post work day setting a 60-120 minute screen allowance, another alternative would be to set time windows where you are allowed to scroll. From 8pm-9pm is phone time before you wind down and disconnect from screens for the evening.
