Eurovision has come to a close for the 2025 season and we have our winner!
Whilst Australia sadly couldn’t find their way into the grand final this year (it’s okay Go-Jo we all love you) it was still an incredible night of music and performances on the main stage. A new winner was crowned with Austria’s JJ walking away with the glass microphone trophy, after securing the votes needed to win Eurovision 2025.
JJ, performed Wasted Love, with an opera like performance of unrequited love. This marks the third time Austria has won Eurovision. You can catch JJ’s winning performance below!
The night didn’t go off completely without issue though, as runner-up Yuval Raphael from Israel had two pro-Palestine protestors attempt to rush the stage during her performance. The protestors attempted to cover the Israel performer in paint, in protest of the ongoing conflict between Israel & Palestine. However, as they tried to jump the barrier to get onto the stage they were stopped by members of crew and security, a member of the crew was left covered in paint but no one was hurt or left with any injuries.
Next year will see the 70th Eurovision event, which will be held in Austria.
