Detectives from Yeppoon Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man with child stealing following investigations into an incident in Yeppoon last night in which an 11-month-old girl was allegedly taken from a home. This incident was subject to an amber alert.
The man and child were located this morning in Yeppoon.
The 29-year-old local man was arrested and charged with one count of child stealing in relation to this incident, as well as one count each of deprivation of liberty, choking and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle (all domestic violence offences) in relation to incidents involving a woman last night, October 4.

He was due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court today (October 5).
