A prisoner has died after he was assaulted at Capricornia Correctional Centre.
The 31-year-old man was rushed to Rockhampton Hospital with serious injuries around midday on Saturday.
He passed away in hospital on Sunday afternoon due to his injuries.

The Corrective Services Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death with assistance from Homicide Investigation Unit and Regional Investigators.
